Week of November 30 - December 4

Theme: Bears

Activities for the week:
  • Make patchwork bears in Art.
  • Have a teddy bear picnic in Dramatic Play.
  • Learn about hibernation and what bears eat in Science. We will eat bear food (berries, nuts and fish) at snack and let our bears hibernate in the pretend cave at nap.
  • In Math we will make patterns with gummy bears.
  • Play with plastic bears, stacking cups and scoops in the Sensory Table.
  • Listen to the story of the Three Bears from our Reading program.
  • Sort, compare and dance with our bears during Group Time.
  • Learn the letter O in handwriting.
  • We will light the first candle on our Advent wreath and learn about Baptism in Religion.

Other Information:

Thursday, Dec. 3rd - bring in donations of coffee and/or laundry detergent to benefit the Ronald McDonald House and earn a free dress.

Week of November 16 - 20

Theme: Thanksgiving

Activities for the week:
  • We will learn the letter C in handwriting.
  • Discover that Thanksgiving Day is a special day to thank God for all of the good things that we have.
  • Make a Thankfulness bag to share with our families.
  • Have a Thanksgiving celebration in Dramatic Play.
  • Make turkey headbands in Art.
  • Explore colorful feathers and popcorn in the Sensory Table.
  • Read "The Night Before Thanksgiving" and sing The 10 Days of Thanksgiving song.
Other Information:
Thursday, Nov. 19th - bring in box tops and wear either OU or OSU colors.

Mon., Nov. 23-Fri., Nov. 27 - No School- Thanksgiving Break

Theme: Fall Harvest

Activities for the week:
  • We will learn the letter U in Handwriting.
  • Discover that our church family is made up of the friends of Jesus in Religion.
  • Learn the difference between living and nonliving things in Science.
  • Play with the Little People playset in Blocks.
  • Complete a short booklet "What Does the Scarecrow See?"
  • Pretend to participate in a fall harvest in Dramatic Play.
  • Explore small pumpkins, gourds and pinecones in birdseed in the Sensory Table.
  • Participate in bean bag games during Group Time.
  • Read and discuss the story of the Little Red Hen.
